and Reliability Growth Analysis 

A newly designed missile ("one-shot" system) undergoes reliability growth developmental testing. A total of 68 trials are utilized over four different design configurations during this developmental testing. Corrective actions are incorporated and the design configuration is modified after the 14th, 33rd and 48th trials. From trial 49 to trial 68, the configuration remains unchanged.

• Configuration 1 experiences 5 failures.
• Configuration 2 experiences 3 failures.
• Configuration 3 experiences 4 failures.
• Configuration 4 experiences 4 failures.

Determine the reliability of the final configuration.

Data Entry
The data set is entered using Developmental Testing, Success/Failure Data and with the Grouped per Configuration option, as shown next.

The next picture shows the data entered in RGA and the analysis of the data using the Crow-AMSAA (NHPP) model.

Results
The following plot illustrates the achieved reliability at each stage (i.e. configuration).

The reliability achieved by configuration 4 can also be calculated using RGA's Quick Calculation Pad (QCP), as shown next.
